Program Description

Event Details

Our library history and genealogy programming promotes an awareness of and interest in local heritage. Cindy's presentations are different every month, covering a wide variety of topics, and we often welcome special guests! Intended for ages 18+.

Our April feature is an exploration of land research and how it connects people to a tract of land using state, county, and circuit court records. Land grants, tax lists, deeds, and circuit court case files allow researchers to follow a family and their neighbors over the course of decades—or even centuries!

As part of this program, we're pleased to welcome this month's special guest: Kandie Adkinson, an Administrative Supervisor for the Kentucky Land Office with over 37 years' experience handling land patent records.
