Program Description

Event Details

Our library history and genealogy programming promotes an awareness of and interest in local heritage. Cindy's presentations are different every month, covering a wide variety of topics, and we often welcome special guests! Intended for ages 18+.

For March, we're thrilled to once again welcome the Kentucky Humanities Chautauqua Program for a special presentation by Debra Faulk: Being Aunt Jemima, the pancake queen. Faulk will take attendees on a dramatic journey through the life, challenges, and hard-won success of Nancy Green, the Montgomery County woman who turned a racist stereotype into financial independence, community empowerment, and activism for Black Americans.

This program is funded in part by the Kentucky Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
