Event Details

Be a part of Marilyn's monthly book club for Rowan County senior citizens! There's a new book every month, requestable in advance through our bookmobile or available at our front circulation desk. Intended for ages 55+.

April's title is Calling Me Home by Julie Kibler, a story interweaving a heartbreaking, forbidden love in 1930s Kentucky with an unlikely modern-day friendship. Eighty-nine-year-old Isabelle suddenly asks her hairdresser, Dorrie, to drive her from Arlington, Texas to Cincinnati—tomorrow, with no clear explanation why. Fleeing troubles of her own and curious about Isabelle's guarded past, Dorrie agrees, with no idea how the journey will end up changing both their lives.
