Exciting news, y'all! We're proud to announce that your Rowan County Public Library has a new Executive Director: Please join us in welcoming Jasmyne Lewis to our library family!
Jasmyne comes to us following her tenure at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., where she was head of the Science, Medicine, and Agriculture Section until joining us here. She has over 10 years of library experience, and is an alumna of Morehead State University (2004), Georgetown College (2008), and the University of Kentucky (2014). Currently, she's finishing up her doctorate in Education in Leadership Studies at Marshall University, where she's focusing on leadership practices in Appalachia's rural public libraries.
When she's not in the library, it's no surprise that Jasmyne enjoys reading a good book. She also loves traveling, and she crochets—maybe you'll even see her at some of our handicraft programs! She currently resides in Grayson, Kentucky with her two children, Aliya and Colin.
We hope that you'll be as glad to meet Jasmyne as we are to have her! Your Rowan County Public Library continues to hold itself to high standards of information, education, and community service, and we can't wait to see what our new Executive Director helps us accomplish for you. 💙📚
