This year's Library Legislative Day was another productive success! This annual event gives library staff, friends of the library, and other supporters from across the state a chance to meet face-to-face with Kentucky policymakers. Your public library matters, and this is one of our biggest opportunities to showcase that by advocating not only for ourselves, but for you!
Our Executive Director, Julie, was in Frankfort again this year, along with our Teen Librarian, Megan, to speak with Rowan County Representative Richard White and Senator Stephen West. Frankfort was packed with librarians from Fleming, Mason, Bourbon, and other counties bringing good news about our services and impact to our legislators. We're always excited to show off how many books and other items y'all've borrowed, how many programs you've attended, how many kids have come to storytimes, and so on—seeing those numbers tells us we're doing a good job (although our community isn't shy about reminding us, either).
Library Legislative Day is one of those things we really couldn't have without your support. Your love for the library allows us to show Rowan County off in the best way, and we appreciate being able to do that. A big thank-you to Julie and Megan for leading from the front on this special occasion, and to y'all for giving us so many successes to share!
