Program Description

Event Details

Our library history and genealogy programming promotes an awareness of and interest in local heritage. Cindy's presentations are different every month, covering a wide variety of topics, and we often welcome special guests! Intended for ages 18+.

It's the semicentennial (or 50th anniversary) of 1974's "super outbreak" of tornadoes—the second-largest recorded outbreak of tornadoes within a 24-hour period after that of 1911. We're taking a whirlwind dive into this wild weather for a retrospective on the tragedy it left in its wake, and the rebuilding that brought communities together afterward.
