Event Details

We’re glad to welcome a kid-friendly performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program, beginning at 10:30am on July 21st!

Edited by playwright and author Brendan P. Kelso and GSP drama scholars, this 40-minute version of William Shakespeare’s funniest comedy will take you on a fast-paced and easily understood journey full of laughter and magic. It’s a great way to introduce your child to one of history’s biggest celebrities!

If you’re not familiar with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, it’s one of the most widely performed plays ever written: A fantasy tale about what happens when the fairy world decides to play tricks on humans in love. Starring iconic figures like Puck, Oberon, and Titania, the story wonders where the line is between dreams and reality. Are the experiences we have in our sleep just the creations of our imaginations, or might they actually be windows into other worlds?

Find out with this special live performance at the library, directed by GSP drama coach Jacqueline Hamilton and portrayed by a cast of young Kentuckians!
